        "content": "<p>Land and building tax<\/p>\n<p>I own a house in the Cipinang Indah complex, Jl. Nusa Indah<br>\nRaya, Blok M4, RT06\/RW16, in East Jakarta. I have consistently<br>\npaid the land and buildings tax (PBB) due on the property at the<br>\nbank appointed by the PBB office. I have receipts of all the<br>\npayments made from 1994 to 1997.<\/p>\n<p>One day I found that a big metal seal had been screwed into<br>\nthe wall beside the front gate to my house. The seal proclaims<br>\nthat the PBB for the house has not been paid for 1994, 1995, 1996<br>\nand 1997.<\/p>\n<p>This is not an act of violence, but it is an arbitrary action<br>\nreflecting a lack of professionalism. Where have my payments<br>\ngone? The seal is a nuisance and an embarrassment. I regret the<br>\nway Cipinang Muara sub-district office and the East Jakarta<br>\ndirectorate general of taxes have dealt with this matter.<\/p>\n<p>I appeal to the person(s) responsible for fixing the seal to<br>\nthe front wall of my house to immediately remove it without<br>\ndamaging the wall.<\/p>\n<p>IRENE RAHARDJO<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta<\/p>",
