Deputy Governor of Lampung Jihan Nurlela has reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s commitment to accelerating the fight against Tuberculosis (TB). This statement was made during a meeting with the Lampung branch of the Indonesian Lung Doctors Association (PDPI) in her office on Friday, 24 April 2026.

According to the Deputy Governor, this meeting is part of strategic steps to follow up on central government directives, particularly after the visit by the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. She assessed that Lampung’s position as a national priority area demands acceleration and strengthening of comprehensive TB elimination programmes.

She expressed optimism that Lampung can become an example of successful TB management. Experiences in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic have shaped a solid collaborative working pattern between the government and health workers.

“We already have experience in handling health crises in a structured and massive manner. We will adapt that approach to accelerate TB elimination in Lampung,” she said.

Although TB recovery trends continue to improve, the Deputy Governor emphasised the importance of strengthening an integrated early detection system with complete treatment. She noted that the main challenge currently is ensuring every case is identified early and receives optimal treatment.

To this end, the Provincial Government of Lampung will optimise the role of all levels of health services, from Community Health Centres (Puskesmas), Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu), to village health cadres.

As part of digital transformation, the local government is also preparing the integration of TB programmes into the “Lampung In” application.

This platform is expected to provide a real-time patient data monitoring system, enabling faster and more targeted interventions.

To support these steps, the Provincial Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office of Lampung has been asked to establish intensive coordination with PDPI, particularly in strengthening data exchange systems (bridging).

“Policy interventions must be supported by strong data so that every step taken truly impacts public health improvements,” she stressed.

In terms of achievements, health sector Minimum Service Standards (SPM) indicators in Lampung show positive progress. In 2024, the achievement reached 103 percent, increasing to 131 percent in 2025. Up to the first quarter of 2026, realisation has reached 19 percent.

Meanwhile, the drug-sensitive TB treatment success rate has also improved, from 95 percent in 2024 to 98 percent in 2025. In the first quarter of 2026, the treatment achievement was recorded at 81 percent.

With strengthened collaboration between the government, medical personnel, and the community, the Provincial Government of Lampung is optimistic that TB elimination efforts can proceed more effectively and sustainably, while also enhancing overall public health quality.
