Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, has affirmed that the government is preparing swift measures to keep job opportunities in Indonesia open, even as global geopolitical uncertainties begin to pressure industries. These steps are crucial to enable job seekers to easily access information on vacancies and training aligned with market needs.

Yassierli conveyed this during the opening of the Domestic Manpower Placement Partnership Networking Forum with the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (AmCham) and the law firm SSEK in Jakarta on Tuesday (7 April 2026).

Yassierli stressed that strengthening the national workforce can only succeed through collaboration between the government, the business world, and workers.

“Indonesia cannot just wait for problems to arise. We must act quickly to keep the labour market stable. The Ministry of Manpower is preparing an early warning system for layoffs, dialogues with companies and workers, as well as accelerating training programmes and skills enhancement,” he said in a written statement on Wednesday (8 April 2026).

On this occasion, Yassierli also highlighted the gap between workers’ competencies and industry needs. According to him, many vacancies are available, but the information and required qualifications are not yet connected to job seekers. Therefore, companies are urged to report their manpower needs through the KarirHub SIAPKerja platform, making recruitment more transparent and accessible to the public.

In addition, he emphasised the importance of vocational training that matches industry requirements. He invited AmCham to directly participate in developing skills for low- to medium-skilled workers, so that training graduates are ready to enter the workforce.

“Besides preparing job opportunities, we are also promoting equal access for people with disabilities. A healthy world of work is not just about growth, but also about fair opportunities for all,” Yassierli added.

Yassierli reminded that technological advancements, including artificial intelligence (AI), will massively transform the world of work. The Ministry of Manpower is ready to facilitate companies’ manpower needs to make the labour market more adaptive, inclusive, and capable of responding to changes.

“We must face all these challenges together for the stability of the national labour market,” he stated.
