Labour Day: BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Commits to Providing Protection for Workers
BPJS Ketenagakerjaan in East Jakarta participated in a social activity organised by the East Jakarta Administrative City Cooperation Agency (LKS) through the provision of food aid packages to workers. This event was held to commemorate Labour Day on 1 May last week. A total of 580 food aid packages were distributed to workers as a form of care and support for the welfare of the workforce in the East Jakarta area. The handover of the food aid took place on 28 April 2026, as part of the series of Labour Day commemoration activities. The peak of the celebration, marked by a symbolic ceremony, was held on 2 May 2026 at the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office. The event was attended by the Mayor of East Jakarta, the Forkopimda, labour unions, and representatives of companies in the East Jakarta area. Head of the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Buaran Office, Muhammad Ramdhoni, in his statement, conveyed that this activity is a tangible manifestation of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s presence in supporting workers’ welfare, especially during the Labour Day commemoration. “The provision of this food aid is expected to provide direct benefits to workers, while also serving as a form of appreciation for their contributions to development. BPJS Ketenagakerjaan will continue to commit to providing protection and improving workers’ welfare in Indonesia,” said Muhammad Ramdhoni. Through this activity, it is hoped that synergy between the government, institutions, and all stakeholders can continue to be established in efforts to create a better working environment and improve the quality of life for workers in the East Jakarta area.
