KUR Disbursement to Micro Enterprises Reaches Rp70 Trillion by May 2026
Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Maman Abdurrahman stated that the disbursement of People’s Business Credit (KUR) to the micro business sector has reached approximately Rp70 trillion as of 3 May 2026, from a total KUR disbursement realisation of Rp96 trillion.
“From the total KUR allocation of Rp96 trillion as of 3 May 2026, around Rp70 trillion has been disbursed to the micro business sector,” Maman said, quoted from an official statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, financing disbursement to micro enterprises is one of the government’s instruments in accelerating the eradication of extreme poverty, as the majority of micro business actors come from low-income groups and informal workers.
Maman said the government continues to optimise the micro and small business sector as the spearhead of poverty alleviation through various policy instruments, including KUR disbursement targeting groups from decile 1 (extremely poor) to decile 4 (vulnerable poor).
He stated that this step is expected to create a more collaborative business ecosystem while opening up new employment opportunities, especially for the younger generation.
The Minister of SMEs attended a ministerial-level coordination meeting led by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar, along with Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Rifky Harsya in Jakarta on Monday (4/5).
The meeting discussed the follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 8 of 2025 on Eradicating Extreme Poverty through strengthening the SME sector and the creative economy.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhaimin Iskandar emphasised that the development of SMEs and the creative economy plays a strategic role in absorbing labour and creating new entrepreneurs across various societal layers.
He conveyed that the government targets at least 10 million people to work formally or become entrepreneurs by 2029.
“This is a collective obligation so that the target of reducing extreme poverty in 2026 and national poverty to a maximum of 5 percent in 2029 can be achieved,” said Muhaimin.
