The effort is one of the main focuses of discussion during the working visit by the Head of the Presidential Staff Office of the Republic of Indonesia (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, to Pelindo in Jakarta on Tuesday (13/5). This visit marks Dudung’s first to a state-owned enterprise since assuming his role as KSP. The occasion is also utilised as a forum to review the strategic plans for transforming port services and strengthening the national logistics system. On this occasion, Dudung emphasised that the visit is a strategic step to align government programmes. “As KSP, my task is to align President Prabowo’s programmes and ensure that the President’s flagship programmes are implemented, one of which is how this logistics ecosystem will support national programmes,” Dudung stated firmly in his remarks on Wednesday (13/5/2026). As part of the visit activities, Dudung, accompanied by the Acting Deputy IV of KSP and staff experts, also visited the Planning and Control (P&C) room at Tanjung Priok Port to directly review the planning and control of operational services as well as the real-time optimisation of vessel berthing schedules. “KSP is certainly just a bridge to resolve Pelindo’s issues with ministries that are unresolved or obstructive, so if this is resolved quickly, it can be completed well and will certainly impact economic growth,” Dudung added. Meanwhile, Pelindo’s President Director, Achmad Muchtasyar, stated that ports play an important role as agents of national development. “Ports function not only to seek profit but also to carry out service obligations to the state or public service obligation. In addition, Pelindo also has a role in safeguarding state sovereignty through strengthening port functions to provide added value to the state. With KSP’s support, these major tasks will be easier to achieve,” Achmad said. Achmad also outlined several of Pelindo’s strategic initiatives to strengthen port services, including the implementation of global port standards, sustainable improvement in service quality, and strengthening logistics ecosystem integration. These efforts are aimed at making Indonesian ports increasingly competitive and able to compete with international ports. Pelindo views collaboration between regulators, operators, and related stakeholders as an important foundation in addressing the increasingly dynamic port industry challenges. Through strengthened governance and service transformation, ports are expected to make a greater contribution to national logistics efficiency. “Port transformation is not just about infrastructure and technology, but also about building an integrated work ecosystem,” Achmad concluded.
