The volume of Commuter Line passengers in the Jabodetabek area was observed to have decreased on the first day the work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) took effect, Friday (10/4/2026). This WFH policy aligns with Circular Letter No. 3 of 2026 from the Minister of PAN-RB regarding the Implementation of Official Duties for ASN Employees in Government Agencies. “Sudirman Station and Tanah Abang Station remain busy, but passenger flow during this morning’s rush hour is smoother and more controlled,” said Karina in an official statement, Friday (10/4/2026). The volume of KRL Jabodetabek passengers was recorded at 335,268 people until Friday (10/4/2026) at 11:00 WIB. This figure indicates a 27 percent decrease in volume compared to the total KRL Jabodetabek passenger volume on the previous Friday before the WFH implementation, which was 460,184 people. Specifically, departure stations like Bogor Station in West Java recorded a passenger volume decrease of up to 26 percent, from a total of 27,659 people to 20,431 people. Similarly, at Bekasi Station in West Java, the user volume was observed to decrease by 25 percent to 18,633 people from a total of 24,835 people. Meanwhile, at Sudimara Station in South Tangerang, the passenger volume decreased by up to 35 percent to 9,382 people from the usual 14,390 people. Juanda Station and Gondangdia Station in Central Jakarta each experienced a 24 percent decrease to 11,834 people from a previous total of 15,621 passengers. Meanwhile, Gondangdia Station decreased by 29 percent to 13,827 people, previously 19,504 people. Both KRL stations are main accesses to various ministry offices and government agencies. Meanwhile, Palmerah Station in Central Jakarta, which is also strategically located, experienced a downward trend of 29 percent to a total of 13,060 people in line with reduced mobility in the surrounding state institution areas. As many as 1,065 KRL Jabodetabek trips continue to operate every day and are prepared to serve the public who still need to carry out activities outside the home. “Although there is a decrease in the number of users from the ASN group today, our service standards remain maintained, both in terms of trip frequency and security personnel at the station areas,” said Karina. Karina added that KAI Commuter will continue to monitor user movements in real-time through the operational control centre to ensure that the distance between trains (headway) remains maintained according to the schedule.
