JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy’s (TNI AL) latest warship, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, has arrived in Indonesian waters after completing a long transoceanic voyage.

The vessel is now scheduled to be commissioned at the end of March 2026 in Jakarta.

“It is planned that KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 will be commissioned directly in Jakarta at the end of March 2026 before strengthening the Indonesian Fleet Command,” said the Head of the Navy Information Service (Kadispenal), Lieutenant Commander Tunggul, in his statement on Monday (23/3/2026).

Tunggul stated that KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 has entered the waters of the Sunda Strait as the final part of the Jala Raksa-26 Crossing Operation.

“The passage exercise was conducted smoothly and with great enthusiasm, reflecting interoperability and solidarity among elements in carrying out tactical procedures at sea,” he said.

According to him, the activity also strengthens coordination and communication in safeguarding Indonesia’s maritime sovereignty.

After completing the series of sea activities, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 continued its voyage to Panjang Pier in Lampung to replenish supplies before proceeding with the next agenda.

“The arrival of this ship is an important milestone in strengthening the national maritime defence posture and marks the success of the transoceanic voyage that has been carried out, passing through the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian Ocean,” Tunggul revealed.

Ali explained that the shipment of the ship’s crew to Italy was scheduled for October 2025.

After that, the ship delivery process would take place on 17 December 2025.

“For KRI Prabu Siliwangi, the crew shipment to Italy began in October. Then on 17 December, delivery, likely by early January 2026 it can already strengthen the fleet ranks,” said Ali, who was met on the deck of KRI Brawijaya-320 which had just docked at Pier 107, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, on Monday (8/9/2025).

The presence of both ships is said to be part of the TNI AL’s alutsista modernisation programme and the implementation of the Nusantara Trisula Shield policy to strengthen Indonesia’s maritime defence posture.
