The Ramadan period has once again driven an increase in consumer activity, reflected in the 27% growth in PayLater transaction volume and 26% in transaction value for Kredivo during Ramadan and Eid 2026 compared to the same period the previous year.

This growth was further supported by a 31% increase in new users, indicating wider adoption of the service as a cash flow management solution amid rising seasonal needs.

Amid this growth, PayLater usage patterns also showed a more targeted shift. The dominance of one-month tenors indicates that the service is increasingly used as a tool to manage short-term needs more measurably, especially ahead of payday and THR (holiday allowance) payouts.

Kredivo Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Indina Andamari, noted that what is interesting about this year’s Ramadan is not just the transaction growth, but how society is beginning to manage spending more strategically.

“We see PayLater being used before payday and THR, with one-month tenors as the primary choice to keep expenses in check, especially since Kredivo offers zero interest and admin fees for this tenor,” she said on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.

In line with this trend, the average transaction value per user is in the range of Rp800,000 - Rp1.5 million, with an average of 4–5 transactions per user.

This shows that PayLater is widely used to meet priority needs gradually, not just for large-value transactions, but also for recurring daily needs.

This is also evident from the 160% growth in transaction volume in the groceries category compared to last year’s Ramadan period. This growth was also strong in PayLater transactions at offline merchants, particularly outside Jabodetabek.

During Ramadan 2026, transaction volume in tier 2 and 3 regions increased by up to 31%, while transaction value rose 67%, reflecting the increasing integration of PayLater into daily shopping activities in regional areas.

“Going forward, we will continue to drive healthy growth through measured expansion, strengthened risk management, implementation of responsible lending principles, and financial education. The goal is for PayLater not only to facilitate, but also to provide sustainable impact for users and the ecosystem,” Indina stated.
