Efforts to enhance financial literacy among the younger generation continue to be strengthened amid the rapid development of digital financial services. One such initiative is being carried out by KrediOne through its participation in the ‘Pindar Mengajar: Cerdas Mengelola, Bijak Bertransaksi’ educational programme at Universitas Riau.

The event, attended by more than 200 students, is a collaboration between the Indonesian Peer-to-Peer Financing Fintech Association (AFPI), Universitas Riau, and digital funding industry players (pindar). Several stakeholders were present, including the Head of OJK Riau Province Triyoga Laksito, AFPI Executive Director Yasmine Meylia, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Riau Alvi Furwanti Alwie, and a representative from KrediOne.

KrediOne’s President Director Kuseryansyah emphasised that financial literacy has now become a fundamental need amid the acceleration of financial sector innovations.

“Financial literacy today is no longer just understanding, but a strategic competency. Amid the acceleration of financial innovation, the ability to read opportunities while managing risks in a measured way becomes the differentiator between empowering access and one that creates vulnerability,” he said, quoted from a press release received on Thursday (9/4).

He added that the expanding access to digital financial services must be balanced with mature decision-making quality. Without adequate literacy, financial access could potentially create new risks for society.

“Financial access without literacy is a double-edged sword. Therefore, every financial decision must be taken consciously, measurably, and responsibly,” he stated.

During the event, participants gained comprehensive understanding of the development of the digital financial industry, including the benefits of pindar services, potential risks, and the differences from illegal online lending practices.

KrediOne also emphasised that the industry’s role is not limited to providing financing access, but also to building a healthy and sustainable financial ecosystem.

“We position our pindar not merely as a financing instrument, but as part of a healthy financial ecosystem. Transparency, accountability, and consumer protection are the main foundations. Through ongoing education, we want to ensure that industry growth aligns with improvements in public understanding,” Kuseryansyah continued.

This participation also serves as support for the National Financial Literacy Movement (Gencarkan) programme initiated by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Through synergy between regulators, associations, academics, and industry players, financial literacy is expected to expand further, especially among the younger generation.

KrediOne believes that strengthening financial literacy will produce a generation that is not only adept at managing finances but also capable of driving inclusive and sustainable digital economic growth in Indonesia.
