A judge has granted the pre-trial petition filed by the Secretary-General of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Indra Iskandar. The KPK will study the judge’s ruling, which has nullified Indra’s suspect status.

“The KPK respects the judge’s decision in the pre-trial hearing filed by Mr IS, as one of the due processes of law, particularly in examining the formal aspects of the investigation in this case. Subsequently, we will study the legal considerations that form the basis of the judge’s decision to determine the next legal steps,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Budi stated that the pre-trial decision is not the end of the law enforcement process. He said the KPK is authorised to continue the investigation in accordance with regulations.

“The pre-trial decision is not the end of law enforcement efforts. As long as there is sufficient evidence, the KPK has the authority to continue the investigation process in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” he said.

Previously, a single judge at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) accepted part of the pre-trial petition filed by Indra Iskandar. Indra’s suspect status in the alleged corruption case of procuring facilities and equipment for DPR members’ official residences in the 2020 fiscal year has been nullified.

“Ruling, one, declares the pre-trial applicant’s petition granted in part,” said single judge Sulistiyanto Rokhmad Budiarto when reading the pre-trial ruling verdict at the South Jakarta District Court, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14/4).

The judge stated that the KPK had acted arbitrarily in designating Indra as a suspect. The judge declared that the suspect designation lacks binding legal force.

In this case, the KPK had designated Indra Iskandar as a suspect. However, Indra has not been detained by the KPK. Indra was designated as a suspect along with six other individuals.

The KPK had previously explained the reason for not detaining Indra. The KPK mentioned that it was still completing documents related to state losses.

“Not yet. We’re still like this. The DPR Secretary-General case. The case related to the DPR Secretary-General, we’re completing it. We’re completing the documents for calculating the state losses,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/8).

The project is said to be worth Rp120 billion. The losses in this case are suspected to reach tens of billions of rupiah.
