A judge has granted the pre-trial petition filed by the\nSecretary-General of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI),\nIndra Iskandar. The KPK will study the judge\u2019s ruling, which has\nnullified Indra\u2019s suspect status.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe KPK respects the judge\u2019s decision in the pre-trial hearing filed\nby Mr IS, as one of the due processes of law, particularly in examining\nthe formal aspects of the investigation in this case. Subsequently, we\nwill study the legal considerations that form the basis of the judge\u2019s\ndecision to determine the next legal steps,\u201d said KPK spokesperson Budi\nPrasetyo to reporters on Tuesday (14\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
Budi stated that the pre-trial decision is not the end of the law\nenforcement process. He said the KPK is authorised to continue the\ninvestigation in accordance with regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe pre-trial decision is not the end of law enforcement efforts. As\nlong as there is sufficient evidence, the KPK has the authority to\ncontinue the investigation process in accordance with applicable laws\nand regulations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Previously, a single judge at the South Jakarta District Court (PN\nJaksel) accepted part of the pre-trial petition filed by Indra Iskandar.\nIndra\u2019s suspect status in the alleged corruption case of procuring\nfacilities and equipment for DPR members\u2019 official residences in the\n2020 fiscal year has been nullified.<\/p>\n
\u201cRuling, one, declares the pre-trial applicant\u2019s petition granted in\npart,\u201d said single judge Sulistiyanto Rokhmad Budiarto when reading the\npre-trial ruling verdict at the South Jakarta District Court, Pasar\nMinggu, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (14\/4).<\/p>\n
The judge stated that the KPK had acted arbitrarily in designating\nIndra as a suspect. The judge declared that the suspect designation\nlacks binding legal force.<\/p>\n
In this case, the KPK had designated Indra Iskandar as a suspect.\nHowever, Indra has not been detained by the KPK. Indra was designated as\na suspect along with six other individuals.<\/p>\n
The KPK had previously explained the reason for not detaining Indra.\nThe KPK mentioned that it was still completing documents related to\nstate losses.<\/p>\n
