KPK urges cooperation from several parties over sting operation involving Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has urged several parties to cooperate regarding the sting operation against Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq. ‘The KPK urges the parties involved in this matter to be cooperative in providing information so that the handling of the case can be effective,’ KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said at the Juang Building of the KPK in Jakarta on Tuesday. When re-confirmed about whether there are still parties not yet arrested by the KPK, Budi restated his statement. ‘There are indeed some parties whose statements are still needed, so we urge those parties to be cooperative when examined as witnesses, for example,’ he said. The KPK has a 1x24 hour period to determine the status of those detained in this OTT in accordance with the Criminal Code Procedures (KUHAP). The arrests relate to alleged bribery in tax examinations within the North Jakarta Madya Tax Service Office under the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, for the 2021-2026 period. The second OTT, on 19 January 2026, the KPK confirmed the arrest of Madiun Mayor Maidi. The anti-corruption agency on 20 January 2026 announced Maidi as one of the suspects in alleged corruption in the form of extortion with a modus of project and CSR funds as well as other receptions or gratifications within the Madiun City Government, East Java. The fourth OTT, on 4 February 2026, was at the KPP Madya Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan. The arrests related to the tax restitution process at that KPP. On 4 February 2026, the KPK announced the fifth OTT related to importation of counterfeit goods. One of those arrested was Rizal, former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, who was serving as Head of the Sumatera Bagian Barat Regional Office of Customs. The sixth OTT, revealed on 5 February 2026, concerned alleged corruption in handling a land dispute of 6,500 square metres at the Depok District Court, West Java. The KPK named the Chief of the Depok District Court I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Deputy Chief Bambang Setyawan, and the Chief Executive Officer of PT Karabha Digdaya, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Finance, as suspects. The seventh OTT was announced on 3 March 2026. The KPK announced a series of sting operations in Central Java, including the arrest of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq together with two others in Semarang, and 11 other people in Pekalongan.
