JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned cigarette entrepreneurs as witnesses in connection with an alleged corruption case regarding the importation of goods at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Based on information gathered, the three cigarette entrepreneurs summoned by the KPK are Liem Eng Hwie, Rokhmawan, and Benny Tan.

In addition, the KPK also summoned two other entrepreneurs, Sri Pengestuti and Eka Wahyu Widiyastuti.

“Among the witnesses summoned today are cigarette entrepreneurs. These witnesses are needed by investigators to provide explanations regarding excise duties,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Nevertheless, he has not yet disclosed the specific matters that investigators will delve into in the case within the DJBC.

“The examination is being conducted at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building,” he said.

KPK Designates 7 Suspects in Importation Case

The KPK initially designated six suspects in this case, namely the Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (P2 DJBC) for the period 2024-2026, Rizal;

Head of the P2 DJBC Intelligence Subdirectorate, Sisprian Subiaksono, and Head of the DJBC Intelligence Section, Orlando Hamonangan, on Thursday (5/2/2026).

Subsequently, there is the Owner of PT Blueray, John Field; the Head of the Import Documents Team at PT Blueray, Andri; and the Operational Manager of PT Blueray, Dedy Kurniawan.

KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution, Asep Guntur Rahayu, stated that John Field wanted the counterfeit or fake goods imported by his company, PT Blueray, to avoid inspection upon entering Indonesia.

“PT BR wanted the goods under its auspices entering from abroad to not undergo checks. So they could easily and smoothly pass through customs inspections,” said Asep during a press conference on Thursday evening (5/2/2026).

Asep said that the criminal conspiracy between PT Blueray and several parties at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise began in October 2025.
