KPK Still Gathering Information on Immigration's Involvement in RPTKA Case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still gathering information on the involvement of immigration authorities in the alleged extortion case against foreign workers related to the processing of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA) within the Ministry of Manpower.
“We are gathering information related to that because the RPTKA is indeed connected to foreign workers,” said Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday (30/3).
Asep further explained the connection between immigration authorities and foreign workers in the RPTKA processing concerns visas.
“Foreign workers are also related to their visas. Whether it’s a work visa, visit visa, and so on. We can check that. It shouldn’t be that the visa differs from the others,” he clarified.
According to the KPK, eight individuals from 2019 to 2024, during the tenure of Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah, have collected around Rp53.7 billion from extorting RPTKA processing.
The KPK explained that RPTKA is a requirement that must be fulfilled by foreign workers to be able to work in Indonesia.
If the RPTKA is not issued by the Ministry of Manpower, the issuance of work permits and residence permits will be delayed, resulting in foreign workers being fined Rp1 million per day. Consequently, RPTKA applicants are forced to give money to the suspects.
In addition, the KPK revealed that the extortion case in RPTKA processing is suspected to have occurred since the era of Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin as Minister of Manpower and Transmigration in the period 2009-2014, continued by Hanif Dhakiri in 2014-2019, and Ida Fauziyah in 2019-2024.
The KPK then detained the eight suspects. The first batch for four suspects on 17 July 2025, and the second batch on 24 July 2025.
On 29 October 2025, the KPK announced the addition of a new suspect in the case, namely the Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower during the Hanif Dhakiri era, Hery Sudarmanto.
