Jakarta — The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong Hendri will not be named as a suspect in an alleged corruption case, despite being arrested during a surprise raid (OTT) in the Bengkulu region.

“No,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

When asked to explain why the KPK did not name Hendri as a suspect, Fitroh clarified that the KPK found no evidence of his involvement based on the evidence already obtained.

“Yes, because it is not proven that the individual was involved based on the available evidence,” he explained.

Previously, on 9 March 2026, the KPK arrested Regent of Rejang Lebong Muhammad Fikri Thobari, Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong Hendri, and 11 others in a surprise raid operation (OTT).

The raid was related to allegations of bribery in projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government in Bengkulu.

On 10 March 2026, the KPK brought the Regent and Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong, who are cadres of the PAN party, along with seven others to Jakarta for intensive questioning.

On the same date, the KPK also announced Fikri Thobari as one of five suspects in the alleged corruption case. The roles of the five individuals were two recipients and three alleged bribe-givers.
