KPK Says It Is Scheduling Nusron Wahid’s Questioning
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said there were no obstacles to summoning Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister and National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) head Nusron Wahid for questioning as a witness in an investigation into a case within the ministry.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said investigators were rearranging the examination schedule after Nusron failed to attend twice.
“There are no obstacles. This is simply a matter of managing the case. We are arranging the timing so that the investigation can proceed effectively,” Budi said at the KPK’s Red and White Building on Wednesday evening (28 October).
He said Nusron’s testimony was needed in connection with the case. Budi noted that the suspects included people trusted by Nusron as well as subordinates at the ministry.
“Some of those involved, including people he trusted, are suspected of being involved in this case and have been named as suspects. A director-general, one level below the minister, has also been named as a suspect. Three rooms used by the director-general—one level below the minister—have been searched,” he said.
Budi said the KPK believed Nusron would co-operate and attend if it issued another summons.
“The KPK believes that, when it summons Mr NW again, he will attend, co-operate and provide the information investigators need,” he said.
Nusron has failed to attend two KPK summonses. He did not appear for the first, on Wednesday (7 October), citing an internal agenda at the ATR/BPN Ministry.
The KPK rescheduled the examination for Thursday (15 October), but Nusron again failed to appear because he was travelling overseas. The KPK has named eight people as suspects in the case involving the ATR/BPN Ministry.
They are Sontang Coin Manurung, head of the Bogor Regency Land Office I; Golkar Party politician Fahd El Fouz, also known as Fahd A Rafiq; former Kebumen regent Arif Sugiyanto; and PT Summarecon Agung Tbk president director Adrianto Pitojo Adhi.
The other four suspects are Lampri, director-general of Land and Spatial Control and Enforcement at the ATR/BPN Ministry, and Muhammad Fakhry, Erwin and Rizal Pahlevi.
The KPK has described Arif, Fahd, Erwin and Muhammad Fakhry as people trusted by Nusron Wahid.
