KPK Receives State Financial Loss Calculation in Former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut's Hajj Quota Corruption Case
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — Indonesia’s anti-corruption commission (KPK) has stated that calculations of state financial losses from the hajj quota corruption case have been completed.
Asep Guntur Rahayu, Deputy for Prosecution and Execution at the KPK, said the agency has received a report from the State Audit Board (BPK).
“That’s correct, the calculation has been completed,” said Asep at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday (26 February 2026).
However, Asep declined to reveal the amount of state financial losses from the alleged hajj quota corruption case involving former Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
He stated the agency is awaiting the pre-trial proceedings initiated by Gus Yaqut at the South Jakarta District Court.
“There is indeed a clause now in our new law that we are waiting for, what’s it called, pre-trial,” he said.
“Certainly, the results of this state financial loss calculation become one of the proofs that we are handling this case as it should be. The losses exist and the other elements of the relevant articles that we have fulfilled, we have fulfilled them,” he added.
“That’s correct, there has been a suspect designation in the investigation of the hajj quota case,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement on Friday.
Budi said in this case the KPK is using Article 2 and Article 3 of the Anti-Corruption Law (UU Tipikor), which regulate the existence of state losses.
“The BPK is currently continuing calculations to determine the amount of state financial loss caused by this case,” said Budi on 9 January.
Now the state loss calculation has been completed, although the KPK has yet to disclose the nominal amount.
