JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as a suspect in a case of alleged corruption involving the procurement of outsourcing services and other goods and services in the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 period. Deputy for Enforcement and Execution KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said the status of suspect was established based on sufficient evidence. Fadia Arafiq was initially nabbed in an Operasi Tangkap Tangan (OTT) in Semarang, Central Java, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. ‘KPK has raised this case to the investigation stage by naming one person as a suspect, namely FAR (Fadia Arafiq) as Pekalongan Regent for the 2025–2030 period,’ he said at a press conference at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. ‘Detention is being carried out at the State Detention Centre (Rutan) Gedung Merah Putih branch of the KPK,’ he added. Asep said the case began when Fadia Arafiq, who had served just one year as Pekalongan Regent for the 2021-2025 period, established a company with her husband, who is also a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mukhtaruddin Ashraff Abu, and their son, a member of the Pekalongan Regional House of Representatives, Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff, named PT RNB (Raja Nusantara Berjaya). PT RNB is a company engaged in providing services and has actively been a vendor in Pekalongan Regency Government procurement of goods and services (PBJ). Then in 2024, Fadia replaced the directorship of PT RNB with a trusted associate named Rul Bayatun. ‘After operating for more than a year, throughout 2023-2026, PT RNB is known to have won outsourcing services procurement projects in several regional apparatuses under the Pekalongan Regency government,’ he explained. In connection with her actions, Fadia is accused of having committed acts of corruption as regulated by Article 12(i) and Article 12(B) of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption, coupled with Article 127(1) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Amendments to the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP).
