KPK: Husband and Son of Fadia Arafiq Benefited from Multibillion‑Rupiah Corruption Funds
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has disclosed that the husband and one of the children of Fadia Arafiq also received money derived from suspected acts of corruption linked to the procurement of outsourcing services within the Pekalongan Regency Government. Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu said the total receipts enjoyed by Fadia’s family amounted to several billions of rupiah during 2023–2026. Fadia Arafiq’s husband, Mukhtaruddin Ashraff Abu (ASH), who sits on the DPR’s Commission X, and their two children, Muhammad Sabiq Ashraff (MSA) and Mehnaz Na (MHN), are said to have received such funds. “FAR” received Rp5.5 billion, ASH as the husband of the regent Rp1.1 billion, MSA Rp4.6 billion, and MHN Rp2.5 billion, Asep said in Jakarta on Wednesday 4 March. In addition, investigators found a further Rp5.3 billion received by Fadia’s family. Thus, total receipts linked to the Pekalongan Regency family reached around Rp19 billion. However, the KPK noted that part of the Rp5.3 billion was distributed to parties outside the family. A sum of Rp2.3 billion was reported to be paid to Rul Bayatun (RUL), director of PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya and a trusted aide to Fadia Arafiq, while another Rp3 billion remained in cash withdrawals and has not yet been distributed further. The case emerged from a hand arrest operation (OTT) conducted by the KPK on 3 March 2026 in Semarang, Central Java. During the operation, the KPK arrested Fadia Arafiq along with aides and several trusted associates, and subsequently detained 11 other individuals from Pekalongan for questioning. On 4 March 2026, the KPK formally named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in the alleged corruption involving outsourcing services procurement and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023–2026 budget year. The KPK also revealed that family-owned companies dominated the procurement of goods and services in Pekalongan in 2025, with Fadia Arafiq allegedly using such enterprises to win outsourcing contracts. Investigators noted that staff of the Pekalongan Regent consistently documented the withdrawals associated with the alleged corruption via a WhatsApp group. Her fellow politicians emphasised that lawmakers should advance from the bottom of the ladder to hone their thinking, including understanding political practices.
