Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has expressed hope that Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar will respond to allegations of gratification involving the provision of private jet travel facilities from Hanura Party General Chairman Oesman Sapta Odang (OSO), without needing to be summoned by the anti-corruption body.

“Ideally, he would respond proactively, account for the matter without having to be invited or summoned,” said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto at the KPK’s Juang Building in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He further stated that the KPK hopes the minister will visit the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring to explain the gratification allegations.

“There [at the Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring], there is a Directorate for Gratification and Public Services which can receive and provide clarification regarding developing issues and matters circulating publicly,” he said.

Following that, the KPK would be able to respond by analysing and reviewing the gratification allegations, he added.

“We can then analyse and review it,” he said.

Previously, on 16 February 2026, social media platform X was abuzz with reports about the Religious Affairs Minister’s use of a private jet during an official visit.

On the same date, Head of the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Public Relations and Communication Bureau, Thobib Al Asyhar, explained that the minister had used a private jet when visiting Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi, on 15 February 2026.

Thobib further explained that the private jet belonged to national figure Oesman Sapta Odang, who had lent it to the minister on grounds of time efficiency.

“Mr OSO specifically invited and hoped that the Sarkiah Centre would be inaugurated by the Religious Affairs Minister. Mr OSO also took the initiative to arrange a private jet for the minister so he could attend amid his packed schedule,” Thobib said in an official statement on the Ministry of Religious Affairs’ website.
