KPK Focuses on Monitoring Three Corruption-Prone Sectors in Central Java
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently focusing on monitoring three corruption-prone sectors within the local government environment in Central Java, including both provincial and regency/city levels.
KPK Deputy for Coordination and Supervision Ely Kusumastuti explained that the three sectors are budget planning, procurement of goods and services, and the practice of buying and selling positions.
“If previously we focused on administrative discussions and monitoring evaluations, this time it is carried out with deeper substantive analysis,” said Ely in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Furthermore, she explained that the KPK’s steps are part of a sharper anti-corruption prevention strategy by ensuring that every local government policy and programme is not only procedurally compliant but also free from conflicts of interest and deviations.
“Do not let us use state budgets for political or personal interests,” she said.
Previously, on 30 March 2026, the Central Java Provincial Government hosted KPK leaders to provide guidance and training to regional heads and DPRD members in the area to avoid corrupt practices.
The training was conducted after the KPK carried out three sting operations (OTT) against regional heads in Central Java. They were Sudewo as Regent of Pati, Fadia Arafiq as Regent of Pekalongan, and Syamsul Auliya Rachman as Regent of Cilacap.
