KPK Examines Transport Minister's Aide, Probes Alleged Fees from DJKA Project for Sudewo
Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is delving into the testimony of Robby Kurniawan, an aide to Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, regarding allegations of receiving fees from the railway track construction project at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) under the Ministry of Transport, intended for the suspect, former DPR Commission V member Sudewo.
The KPK probed this matter during the examination of Robby Kurniawan as a witness in the suspected corruption case concerning the construction and maintenance of DJKA railway tracks, on Tuesday (5/5/2026).
“Investigators are delving into allegations of receiving project fees for the suspect Mr SDW (Sudewo) and also the witness,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
“Certainly, this will also require investigators to examine other witnesses to complete the statements already provided, both from today’s witness and previous ones,” he stated.
The KPK had previously delved into this matter during the examination of Sudewo as a suspect in the case on 29 April 2026.
“Investigators are probing the role and alleged involvement of Mr SDW (Sudewo) in conditioning procurement at DJKA, including delving into Mr SDW’s alleged receipt of project fees from private parties,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in his statement on 30 April 2026.
Budi stated that the examination of Sudewo was to complement the examinations of several previous witnesses, who were also probed regarding Sudewo’s role in the case.
“Previously, investigators conducted marathon examinations of parties at DJKA as well as private sector parties, delving into the procurement process and mechanisms for goods and services within DJKA,” he said.
It is known that the KPK has designated Pati Regent Sudewo as a suspect in two corruption cases simultaneously.
In addition to being a suspect in the alleged extortion case for filling village apparatus positions, Sudewo has also been designated as a suspect in the bribery case for the railway track project at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA), Ministry of Transport.
