The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Indonesian Audit Watch (IAW) Secretary Iskandar Sitorus as a witness on Friday (12/6) in a case of alleged corruption within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Iskandar arrived at the KPK’s Merah Putih building at 09:33 WIB and was still undergoing questioning at the time of writing. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the examination was intended to delve deeper into information regarding external conditioning efforts in the handling of the customs case. “The material concerns the collection of information by HB [Heri Setiyawan, also known as Heri Black],” Budi said. A day earlier, on Thursday (11/6), the KPK had examined Heri Black as a witness for approximately two hours. During that session, investigators confirmed several pieces of evidence obtained from a search of Heri Black’s residence in Semarang, Central Java, where they seized notes and electronic evidence believed to be related to the case. From the seized items, investigators obtained information about attempts to obstruct the investigation process. The KPK considers these actions as potential obstruction of justice, whether direct or indirect, and investigators will assess whether they meet the legal elements of such an offence. This legal process is part of completing the case files for seven suspects already named by the KPK in a bribery and gratification case related to importation. The suspects include Rizal, former Director of Investigation and Enforcement at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the 2024-January 2026 period; Sisprian Subiaksono, Head of the Intelligence, Enforcement, and Investigation Sub-Directorate; Orlando, Head of the Intelligence Section; Andri, Team Leader for Import Documents at PT Blueray; Budiman Bayu Prasojo, a Customs and Excise official; John Field, owner of PT Blueray; and Dedy Kurniawan, Operational Manager of PT Blueray. All suspects have been detained at the KPK detention centre, while the PT Blueray parties are currently facing trial at the Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court.
