Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined four witnesses on 14 April 2026 to deepen the investigation into the tax audit of PT Wanatiara Persada.

“The four witnesses were examined in relation to the process and administration of the land and building tax audit for plantations, forestry, oil and gas mining, mineral and coal mining, and others (PBB P5L) in the name of PT Wanatiara Persada, according to their respective roles and duties,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that the four witnesses examined for the investigation into the alleged bribery case in tax audits at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office for the 2021-2026 period were Muhammad Hasan Firdaus, Refo Negoro Abraradi, Arif Wibawa, and civil servant (ASN) at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office, Heru Tri Novianto.

Previously, the KPK conducted the first sting operation (OTT) of 2026 on 9-10 January 2026 and arrested eight people.

The KPK stated on 9 January 2026 that the OTT was related to alleged tax arrangements in the mining sector.

On 11 January 2026, the KPK named five people as suspects from that OTT. They were the Head of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office, Dwi Budi (DWB), Head of the Supervision and Consultation Section of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office, Agus Syaifudin (AGS), Assessment Team at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office, Askob Bahtiar (ASB), tax consultant Abdul Kadim Sahbudin (ABD), and staff of PT Wanatiara Persada, Edy Yulianto (EY).

Edy Yulianto is alleged to be the party who bribed employees of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office with Rp4 billion to reduce the payment of land and building tax (PBB) arrears for the 2023 tax period, originally around Rp75 billion, which was then changed to Rp15.7 billion.
