The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has seized cash worth hundreds of millions of rupiah from an anti-corruption operation against regional leaders in Bengkulu Province, specifically Regent of Rejang Lebong Muhammad Fikri Thobari and Vice-Regent Hendri.
“In addition to securing the individuals involved, the KPK also secured documents, electronic evidence, and cash worth hundreds of millions of rupiah,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday evening.
However, Budi stated that the KPK has not yet been able to provide further details regarding the exact amount of money seized in the operation.
The KPK also has not yet disclosed which projects are linked to the case, despite having already announced five suspects, including Fikri Thobari.
“Regarding which projects are involved, we will provide full details at a later press conference,” he said.
He explained that the press conference concerning the chronology of the alleged corruption offence case will be held on 11 March 2026.
Previously, on 9 March 2026, the KPK arrested Regent of Rejang Lebong Muhammad Fikri Thobari, Vice-Regent Hendri, and 11 others in a raid operation (OTT). The operation was related to alleged bribery concerning projects within the Rejang Lebong District Government in Bengkulu.
On 10 March 2026, the KPK brought the Regent and Vice-Regent of Rejang Lebong, who are members of the PAN party, along with seven others to Jakarta for intensive questioning.
On the same date, the KPK also announced Fikri Thobari as one of five suspects in the alleged corruption offence case. The roles of the five individuals are two as alleged bribery recipients and three as alleged bribe-givers.
