The Corruption Eradctions Commission (KPK) has also arrested the former Acting Director General of Immigration for the 2024-2025 period, Saffar Muhammad Godam, and the Head of the West Java Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Jaya Saputra. These arrests are part of a series of sting operations (OTT) targeting the Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office conducted by the KPK on 2-3 June 2026.

“It is true that among the parties detained, the Acting Director General of Immigration for 2024-2025 was also taken into custody during this activity. His initials are G,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the commission’s office in Jakarta on Wednesday night.

In total, the KPK arrested 17 individuals during the operation. Eight are state officials and civil servants, while nine are from the private sector. “Two private sector individuals were detained in Bali, while one state official, the West Java Regional Head of Immigration, was detained in West Java. The remaining parties were apprehended in Jakarta and its surrounding areas,” Budi added.

In addition to the arrests, the KPK enforcement team seized various pieces of evidence during the covert operation, including seven cars, 15 motorcycles, 11 bicycles, foreign currency, and gold bullion.

“Tonight, the KPK will conduct an exposure (case review) to determine the legal status of those detained. We must wait to see who will be officially named as suspects following this sting operation,” said Budi.

The sting operation is reportedly related to the processing of residence permits for Foreign Nationals (WNA) in Indonesia. Regarding the specific legal charges, Budi noted that the commission is still reviewing the case. “We are waiting for the results of tonight’s exposure to determine whether the charges will involve Article 12e regarding extortion, bribery, or other forms of illegal receipt. We will provide updates in due course,” he concluded.
