        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradctions Commission (KPK) has also arrested the\nformer Acting Director General of Immigration for the 2024-2025 period,\nSaffar Muhammad Godam, and the Head of the West Java Regional Office of\nthe Directorate General of Immigration, Jaya Saputra. These arrests are\npart of a series of sting operations (OTT) targeting the Head of the\nWest Jakarta Immigration Office conducted by the KPK on 2-3 June\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true that among the parties detained, the Acting Director\nGeneral of Immigration for 2024-2025 was also taken into custody during\nthis activity. His initials are G,\u201d stated KPK Spokesperson Budi\nPrasetyo at the commission\u2019s office in Jakarta on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>In total, the KPK arrested 17 individuals during the operation. Eight\nare state officials and civil servants, while nine are from the private\nsector. \u201cTwo private sector individuals were detained in Bali, while one\nstate official, the West Java Regional Head of Immigration, was detained\nin West Java. The remaining parties were apprehended in Jakarta and its\nsurrounding areas,\u201d Budi added.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the arrests, the KPK enforcement team seized various\npieces of evidence during the covert operation, including seven cars, 15\nmotorcycles, 11 bicycles, foreign currency, and gold bullion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTonight, the KPK will conduct an exposure (case review) to determine\nthe legal status of those detained. We must wait to see who will be\nofficially named as suspects following this sting operation,\u201d said\nBudi.<\/p>\n<p>The sting operation is reportedly related to the processing of\nresidence permits for Foreign Nationals (WNA) in Indonesia. Regarding\nthe specific legal charges, Budi noted that the commission is still\nreviewing the case. \u201cWe are waiting for the results of tonight\u2019s\nexposure to determine whether the charges will involve Article 12e\nregarding extortion, bribery, or other forms of illegal receipt.
