This effort is being realised through analysis and evaluation activities, as well as the optimisation of ETLE WIM, conducted in the jurisdiction of the Langkat Police Resort. The agenda took place at the office of PT Hutama Karya in Stabat on Tuesday (5/5/2026). The activity involved the team from the Subdirectorate of Dakgar of the Directorate of Gakkum of Korlantas Polri, the North Sumatra Regional Police Traffic Directorate, as well as toll road managers and other related stakeholders. This forms part of strategic steps under the direction of Korlantas Polri Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho and Director of Gakkum Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Faizal to strengthen the national electronic-based traffic violation enforcement system. During the implementation, the team led by Commissioner Dwi Sumrahadi Rakhmanto conducted socialisation and in-depth technical discussions regarding the implementation of the WIM system. This technology can automatically measure the weight and dimensions of vehicles as they pass without stopping. “This system is directly integrated with ETLE, enabling it to detect and record vehicle violations, particularly for goods transport exceeding load capacity or specified dimensions,” said Commissioner Dwi Sumrahadi. In addition, plans for enforcement using a selective priority approach were discussed, focusing on vehicles with high violation levels, especially in the over-dimension and overload categories. This step is expected to create a deterrent effect while increasing awareness among transport business operators to comply with applicable regulations. The implementation of this state-owned construction company’s WIM is also being promoted as a model for other Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) in developing ETLE systems based on WIM on toll routes. Not only for overdimension and overload violations, this system also has the capability to identify various other types of traffic violations automatically and accurately. Currently, ETLE WIM devices managed by the Hutama Karya Group along with its subsidiaries have been installed at 26 strategic points spread from Lampung to Aceh, all integrated with the National ETLE System of Korlantas Polri. This integration is a crucial part in realising modern, transparent, and sustainable traffic oversight. As a follow-up to the activity, police ranks along with related stakeholders are committed to continuously improving supervision and law enforcement against goods transport vehicles, particularly in curbing overdimension and overload violations. The synergy established is expected to create a more orderly, safe transport system, as well as preserve the quality of toll road infrastructure from damage caused by non-compliant vehicles. With increasingly solid collaboration and ongoing technological support, the implementation of ETLE WIM is hoped to become a concrete step in achieving the national target of Zero Overdimension Overload by 2027, as well as driving sustainable traffic safety in Indonesia.
