Korlantas Polri Halts One-Way Return Flow from Kalikangkung to Cikampek This Afternoon
The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) has officially halted the national one-way traffic engineering or one-way scheme for the return flow from kilometre marker (KM) 414 Gerbang Tol (GT) Kalikangkung in Semarang to KM 70 GT Cikampek Utama on Wednesday (25/3) afternoon. This decision was taken after traffic counting data indicated a significant decrease in vehicle volume compared to the peak return flow on Tuesday (24/3). Head of Korlantas Polri Inspector General of Police Agus Suryonugroho explained that they are currently sterilising the lanes to restore traffic to normal conditions. “This afternoon, we are also adding more normalisation. Previously from KM 414 to KM 263, now from 263 we are normalising again, sterilising again up to KM 70,” Agus stated in Karanganyar, Central Java. Agus added that evaluations at GT Banyumanik and GT Kalikangkung show vehicle movement has stabilised and is below the extreme congestion threshold. Although the national one-way has been lifted, Korlantas Polri is still preparing several limited traffic engineering schemes to maintain smooth flow towards Jakarta. “Currently, a one-lane counterflow traffic engineering is still in effect from KM 70 to KM 55 on the Trans Java Toll Road,” he revealed. Additionally, the police are keeping the Japek II South functional toll road open for drivers from West Java. This route connects Sadang, Deltamas, to Setu, which will integrate with the JORR (Jakarta Outer Ring Road) toll. Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, along with several related ministers, officially opened the national one-way on Tuesday (24/3) to anticipate the surge in vehicles at the main toll gates heading to Jakarta. Returnees are urged to take advantage of the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy.
