Korlantas Implements One-Way Traffic on Trans-Java Toll Road From KM 70 to 263
Jakarta, Kompas.com — The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) will implement traffic engineering measures consisting of one-way traffic on a section of the Trans-Java toll road beginning Tuesday afternoon, 17 March 2026.
The head of the National Police Traffic Corps, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stated that this policy was adopted following increased vehicle congestion during the 2026 Eid exodus period.
“We report that the current traffic situation from toll kilometres 29, 57, and 70 is quite congested. Therefore, we at the Korlantas National Police have collaborated with stakeholders, including the Minister and the Chief Executive of Jasa Marga. We will conduct outreach regarding the implementation of one-way traffic on the first phase between kilometre 70 and kilometre 263 in the Central Java region,” said Agus at a press briefing on Tuesday.
Agus emphasised that this traffic engineering measure is part of the Korlantas strategy to maintain smooth traffic flow during the Eid period, particularly in connection with Operation Ketupat 2026.
He expressed optimism that the implementation of this scheme would make vehicle flow smoother and more controlled on the main Trans-Java corridor.
“With the Work From Anywhere policy, departures are spread out. The government’s firm policy regarding the joint decision is very strategic for managing traffic flow,” he said.
Previously, the Korlantas National Police had planned to implement nationwide one-way traffic on 18 March 2026, which is expected to be the peak of the exodus.
“When the traffic management technology infrastructure can be controlled, it might also change to nationwide one-way traffic or one-way traffic on the first phase, which of course we will announce later,” he said.
