Korlantas' ETLE Drone Patrol Becomes More Sophisticated, Detecting Number Plates with ANPR
Using ANPR technology on the Polri’s ETLE Drone represents a breakthrough in increasing the effectiveness of traffic surveillance, particularly for violations based on vehicle restrictions such as the odd-even rule. The system enables vehicle identification to be carried out quickly, accurately, and electronically, without the need to stop vehicles directly on the ground.
Through this technology, the ETLE Drone can record the number plates of vehicles passing through areas under the odd-even scheme and automatically identify vehicles that do not comply with the operating date provisions. The introduction of the ANPR system is seen to speed up enforcement and improve the efficiency of traffic flow monitoring in urban areas with high mobility.
Kakorlantas Polri, Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho, stressed that the use of ETLE Drones with ANPR technology is part of Polri’s digital transformation. The Traffic Corps is delivering a modern, precise, and technology-adaptive system for traffic law enforcement.
Meanwhile, Dirgakkum Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General Faizal, noted that the ETLE Drone’s ability to read vehicle number plates automatically will further facilitate the enforcement of traffic violations, particularly those related to the odd-even scheme that is the focus of monitoring in Jakarta and other major cities.
Korlantas Polri hopes that the use of the ETLE Drone Patrol Presisi technology will increase public compliance with traffic rules and strengthen the electronic enforcement system that is transparent, accountable, and efficient to create safety, order, and smooth traffic on the roads.
