Korlantas Educates Students on Traffic Order

The Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas) is strengthening road safety education for the younger generation through the ‘Polantas KARIB Goes To School’ programme.

Traffic safety education was provided to students of SMP Labschool Kebayoran, Jakarta, on Thursday (10/9), attended by the Director of Law Enforcement of Korlantas Polri, Brigadier General I Made Agus Prasatya.

During the event, Made explained that police duties in the field of traffic are not solely related to law enforcement. Korlantas also plays a vital role in ensuring security, safety, order, and smoothness of traffic (kamseltibcarlantas).

“Therefore, students are encouraged to understand the importance of traffic order from an early age. The education provided covers not only written regulations but also the habits and attitudes that need to be applied when on the road,” Made stated in his remarks.

The materials presented included the completeness of vehicle documentation, compliance with traffic signs, and understanding and adherence to road markings.

Korlantas emphasised that the understanding of traffic safety should not stop within the school environment but must be applied by students in their daily lives.

Despite being in junior high school, Made noted that students need to understand traffic safety from an early age. This knowledge is expected to shape disciplined and responsible behaviour when travelling on the roads.

Through education starting from school, students are expected to grow into a generation that is disciplined, cares about safety, and is capable of becoming pioneers of traffic safety within their school, family, and community environments.

Furthermore, during the occasion, Made also encouraged students to be brave in pursuing their ambitions and not to give up easily in achieving them.

“You must have big dreams. Being a police officer is a noble duty, serving the community,” he said.
