Kobatama starts this evening

JAKARTA (JP): A derby duel between two Surabaya-based teams, CLS and Pacific, followed by a vendetta involving defending champion Hadtex of Bandung, and its last year's runner-up Aspac of Jakarta, will mark the opening day of the Indonesian Basketball League (Kobatama) this evening in Surabaya.

The league's first leg, which will be opened by Harmoko, chairman of the Indonesian Basketball Association at Surabaya's Kertajaya stadium, will end on May 25.

The second leg will be held from July 4 to July 9 in the Senayan Basketball Hall, Jakarta; the third leg will be held from July 18 to July 23 at Bandung's Padjajaran stadium; and the fourth will be held from Aug. 29 to Sept. 3 at the Bima Sakti stadium, Malang. The final leg, which will pit the best four, will be held in Senayan, Jakarta, from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1. (arf)
