Klungkung Regent, I Made Satria, responded calmly to the legal case regarding the construction of a glass lift at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida Subdistrict, which was sued by PT Indonesia Kaishi Tourism Property Investment Development Group in the State Administrative Court (PTUN). Satria entrusts the legal matter to the Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov Bali). “Regarding the legal process, it is handled by the Bali provincial government. So until now, I myself do not know how far the legal process has progressed,” Satria told detikBali on Friday (10/4/2026). Satria also responded to the company’s obligation to dismantle the structure. According to Satria, that is also under the authority of the Bali Provincial Government, so the Klungkung Regency Government is only observing the ongoing process. “Regarding the instruction or decision from the Bali Province to dismantle the lift, that is also the province’s authority, not the regency’s. So we are in a wait-and-see mode in this matter,” Satria added. The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) explained that the construction of the glass lift at Kelingking Beach has had a negative impact from the start. Aesthetically, Satria said, the glass lift clearly disrupts the natural beauty of Kelingking Beach. Satria is committed to maintaining the conducive condition of the area, especially from damage or potential vandalism by local residents who disagree. “Until now, the situation is safe. We guarantee that nothing like that will happen,” he explained. Previously reported, Bali Governor Wayan Koster gave a deadline to the investor (PT Indonesia Kaishi Tourism Property Investment Development Group) to dismantle the entire glass lift structure independently within a maximum of six months, meaning the deadline falls around May 2026. In addition, the developer is required to restore the function of the space and land within a maximum of three months.
