KKP: China Approves 638 Indonesian Fish Processing Units for Export
The Ministry of Marine and Fisheries announced that the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) has granted registration numbers or export permits for fish products to eight fish processing units on 11 May 2026. This brings the total number of Indonesian fish processing units (UPIs) approved for export to China to 638. ‘China’s GACC, as our partner, has approved the submission of eight UPIs through the bilateral Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) channel, enabling them to commence fish exports to China from 11 May 2026,’ said Ishartini, Head of the Marine and Fisheries Product Quality Control and Monitoring Agency, in a written statement on Sunday, 31 May 2026.
The eight newly approved units set to begin exporting to China are PT Duta Mitra Semesta, PT BPH Global Indonesia, CV Daniel Nathania Fishery, PT Bintang Samudera Pratama, PT Ramantha Kawanua Indonesia, PT Marindo Jaya Maros, PT Jaya Mega Samudera, and PT Zhongyi Supply Chain Services.
Ishartini stated that Indonesia currently exports 1,080 types of fish commodities to China. In 2025, the export volume to China reached 491,528 tonnes valued at US$1.04 billion, approximately Rp17.46 trillion.
The top 10 fish commodities include Frozen Squid, Eucheuma Cottonii Seaweed, Gracilaria Seaweed, Frozen Ribbon Fish, Dried Eucheuma Cottonii Seaweed, Dried Gracilaria Seaweed, Eucheuma Spinosum, Frozen Leather Jacket Fish, and Frozen Croaker Fish.
She urged all businesses and stakeholders granted export access to various countries to maintain commitment and consistency in applying sanitation, hygiene, and food safety standards throughout the production chain and surrounding facility environment. ‘This is to ensure product acceptance and strengthen international trust, thereby enhancing competitiveness,’ she added.
