The Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) and the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) in Jeddah have facilitated the export of Indonesian herbal health products valued at Rp2.5 billion to Saudi Arabia. According to Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah Yusron Ambary, the trade deal is formalised in a letter of agreement (LoA) between PT Dami Sariwana, an industry partner of Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade, and Saudi company Al Itholah Trading. “The LoA covers the initial shipment of one container of Indonesian herbal products comprising male vitality supplements, blood sugar control support products, and slimming products, with a transaction value of Rp2.5 billion,” Yusron stated on Tuesday. He noted that the agreement was signed on Monday at the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah in a hybrid format, with parties in Jeddah connected to their counterparts in Semarang, Central Java, via teleconference. On the occasion, the Economic Function Coordinator of KJRI Jeddah expressed appreciation for the successful entry of Indonesian herbal products into the Saudi market. Yusron explained that as part of international trade risk mitigation, KJRI Jeddah and ITPC Jeddah had previously conducted on-site verification of Al Itholah Trading to ensure the validity and readiness of the Saudi importer to pursue cooperation with its Indonesian partner. KJRI Jeddah and ITPC Jeddah hope this export will open wider opportunities for Indonesian herbal products and enrich the variety of Indonesian goods available in Saudi Arabia, alongside various food products, spices, and daily necessities already familiar to Saudi consumers. “The importer also expressed its commitment to continue placing orders if these products receive a positive response from the Saudi market,” Yusron said. Prior to the contract signing, the consulate invited representatives of Al Itholah Trading to visit the Indonesian Corner at the KJRI Jeddah Integrated Service Building to introduce Indonesia’s leading products and potential trade cooperation.
