Kitabisa ready to distribute Deputy Chair Ahmad Sahroni's parliamentary salary to those in need
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Kitabisa, a crowdfunding platform, has confirmed its readiness to channel donations sourced from the salary of Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chair of Commission III of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI), to people in need.
Kitabisa Co-Founder Vikra Ijaz stated that his team has been contacted by Sahroni’s team regarding plans to distribute the salary.
“Yes, his team (Ahmad Sahroni) has already been in contact. We plan to create a Kitabisa page for transparency in channelling his donations,” said Vikra in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to Vikra, the fund distribution mechanism will be conducted transparently, similar to other fundraising campaigns on the Kitabisa platform, so the public can monitor the distribution process.
Regarding the purpose of the fund distribution, he stated that Kitabisa will coordinate first with Sahroni’s team each time assistance is to be provided.
“We will coordinate with his team every time we distribute donations. Everything will be displayed transparently like regular Kitabisa pages,” he said.
However, Kitabisa has not yet informed in detail which sectors or parties will receive assistance from the donations.
“Details have not yet been provided. What is certain is that Kitabisa will recommend fundraising or urgent issues that need help,” said Vikra.
Previously, Sahroni committed to donating his entire salary as a DPR member to the Kitabisa crowdfunding platform until the end of his term in 2029.
He made this commitment after resuming active duties at the DPR RI since February 2026.
According to Sahroni, the salary he receives as a DPR member will be channelled entirely through the Kitabisa Foundation so it can be utilised for people in need.
“The salary I receive as a DPR member, I want to hand over to the Kitabisa Foundation so it can be used as it should be to help those who need it,” said Sahroni at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
He explained that the distribution through Kitabisa was chosen because it was deemed more transparent and open to the public compared to providing assistance privately.
“Because it is transparent in nature, an open foundation, we hand it over to Kitabisa so it works better,” said Sahroni.
