KISI Margin Promotion: 3% Interest and Loan Limit of Rp 25 Billion
JAKARTA - PT Korea Investment and Sekuritas Indonesia (KISI) has launched a promotional programme for margin accounts to attract investor interest in the stock market. Head of Retail Equity at KISI, Michael Zhu, stated that the programme provides funding flexibility while reducing transaction costs for clients. “In this programme, KISI offers a highly competitive margin interest rate. Clients can enjoy a special interest rate of 3% p.a. for 30 days,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (2/4/2026). A margin account is a special account at a securities company. This facility allows investors to borrow funds to purchase shares exceeding their cash capital. After the promotional period ends, the interest rate will follow the level of 8.8% per year. This scheme is considered more affordable compared to conventional financing. KISI also provides additional facilities in the form of free stock transfer fees for up to 25 tickers. All Central Depository and Book Entry Settlement System (CBEST) fees are borne by the company. “For transfers above 25 tickers, the fees will be charged to the client,” Michael said. On the financing side, KISI sets a loan limit of up to Rp 25 billion per account. This limit provides room for investors with greater leverage needs. The margin ratio after transfer must be maintained at 50%. This means the total debt compared to the portfolio value after haircut must comply with the provisions. Final approval still follows KISI’s management evaluation. The programme is open to both new and existing clients. New clients must attach an active Statement of Account (SoA) from their previous broker for the last six months. Existing clients who do not yet have margin facilities can also join this programme. Registration is open from 1 April to 30 April 2026. The promotional period runs from 1 May to 31 May 2026. KISI assesses that this programme can expand investor access to competitive and transparent margin facilities. This step is also aimed at encouraging transaction activity in the capital market. All terms and conditions of the programme may change according to company policy.
