JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Director/Owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour), Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, complied with the summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be examined as a witness in the case of alleged corruption regarding the 2023-2024 hajj quota on Thursday (23/4/2026).

Based on observations by Kompas.com, Khalid arrived at the Red and White Building in Jakarta at 3:46 PM WIB, accompanied by five of his lawyers.

They were seen wearing black suits.

“I was summoned as a witness,” said Khalid.

“I don’t know the person, I’m not very familiar with them,” he stated.

Previously, the KPK had summoned the Director/Owner of PT Zahra Oto Mandiri (Uhud Tour), Ustaz Khalid Zeed Abdullah Basalamah, as a witness in the case of alleged corruption regarding the 2023-2024 hajj quota on Thursday (23/4/2026).

“In the continuation of the hajj quota investigation, indeed, today the investigators have scheduled Mr KB (Khalid Basalamah), one of the Special Hajj Organisers (PIHK),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/4/2026).

He stated that the KPK wants to delve deeper into the processes of buying, selling, and filling the hajj quota carried out by the PIHK.

“We are confident that the witness will be cooperative in attending the investigators’ summons and providing the necessary testimony,” he said.

After designating former Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and his former special staff, Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, as suspects, the KPK again designated two new suspects on Monday (30/3/2026).

The two suspects are the Operational Director of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour), Ismail Adham, and the Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati Utama as well as the General Chairman of the Kesthuri Association, Asrul Azis Taba.

Asep stated that there was collusion between the two suspects in arranging the filling of additional special hajj quotas that did not comply with applicable laws and regulations, as well as the provision of a sum of money to state organisers.
