Kepri SPPG Head: 9,204 Volunteers Employed in Free Nutritious Meals Programme
Batam (ANTARA) – The regional head of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) in the Riau Islands (Kepri) said 9,204 volunteers had been employed in the operation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme through 235 SPPG kitchens.
Kepri SPPG Regional Head Anindita Ayu said the figures reflect the position as of June 2026, and that no additional SPPG kitchens had opened in the province since then.
“So far, 9,204 volunteers have been working at 235 operational kitchens across all seven regencies and cities in Kepri,” Anindita said when contacted in Batam on Thursday.
She explained that volunteers fill various roles supporting kitchen operations, from field staff to cleaning and security personnel.
The 235 SPPG kitchens are distributed across Batam, which has 141; Tanjungpinang, 24; Anambas, three; Lingga, seven; Natuna, 12; Karimun, 29; and Bintan, 19.
Anindita said the number of volunteers required at each kitchen varies according to the number of beneficiaries served. Under the technical guidelines, a kitchen serving 2,001 to 3,000 beneficiaries requires 47 volunteers.
She added that each kitchen also has an SPPG head, a nutrition supervisor and a finance supervisor.
“The programme’s technical guidelines set volunteer allowances at around Rp100,000 to Rp200,000 per day. Volunteers are also covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan,” she said.
Anindita said recruitment is conducted independently by the foundation managing each SPPG kitchen.
“Volunteer employment contracts are usually made with the foundation, and the recruitment process is also carried out independently by the foundation,” Anindita Ayu said.
