        "content": "<p>Batam (ANTARA) \u2013 The regional head of the Nutrition Fulfilment\nService Unit (SPPG) in the Riau Islands (Kepri) said 9,204 volunteers\nhad been employed in the operation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG)\nprogramme through 235 SPPG kitchens.<\/p>\n<p>Kepri SPPG Regional Head Anindita Ayu said the figures reflect the\nposition as of June 2026, and that no additional SPPG kitchens had\nopened in the province since then.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, 9,204 volunteers have been working at 235 operational\nkitchens across all seven regencies and cities in Kepri,\u201d Anindita said\nwhen contacted in Batam on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>She explained that volunteers fill various roles supporting kitchen\noperations, from field staff to cleaning and security personnel.<\/p>\n<p>The 235 SPPG kitchens are distributed across Batam, which has 141;\nTanjungpinang, 24; Anambas, three; Lingga, seven; Natuna, 12; Karimun,\n29; and Bintan, 19.<\/p>\n<p>Anindita said the number of volunteers required at each kitchen\nvaries according to the number of beneficiaries served. Under the\ntechnical guidelines, a kitchen serving 2,001 to 3,000 beneficiaries\nrequires 47 volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>She added that each kitchen also has an SPPG head, a nutrition\nsupervisor and a finance supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe programme\u2019s technical guidelines set volunteer allowances at\naround Rp100,000 to Rp200,000 per day. Volunteers are also covered by\nBPJS Ketenagakerjaan,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Anindita said recruitment is conducted independently by the\nfoundation managing each SPPG kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVolunteer employment contracts are usually made with the foundation,\nand the recruitment process is also carried out independently by the\nfoundation,\u201d Anindita Ayu said.<\/p>",
