Tanjungpinang (ANTARA) - Riau Islands Province (Kepri) has been selected as the location for the Student Officers’ Research Data Collection Fieldwork Lecture (KK PDP Pasis) at the Air Force Command and Staff College (Seskoau) for Batch-64, Academic Year 2026.

Seskoau Commander, Air Marshal TNI Jorry S Koloay, stated that the background for selecting Kepri is the excellent quality of its airspace and its significant potential for aviation development in Indonesia.

“The potential of Kepri’s airspace is one of the reasons we are holding the KK PDP Pasis Seskoau 2026,” said Marshal Jorry in Tanjungpinang on Tuesday.

According to him, this activity is very important and useful as material for evaluation and solutions in managing airspace located in areas bordering other countries.

Not only that, he continued, the potential of Kepri’s airspace, which holds a strategic position both nationally and internationally, is very important in safeguarding defence, sovereignty, security, as well as the economy and environment, managed well by civilians or the military.

“We hope that the Seskoau student officers for 2026 will be able to gather valid data for strengthening the management of airspace in Kepri,” he said.

Marshal Jorry also emphasised that the visit of Seskoau Batch-64 student officers to Kepri will not only serve as a place to gather valid data but will also certainly encourage local tourism and economy.

Meanwhile, Acting Assistant for Government and Public Welfare of Kepri Province, Andi Agung, appreciated the selection of the Malay Land as the location for the KK PDP Pasis Seskoau Batch-64, Academic Year 2026.

In front of all the attending Seskoau student officers, Andi Agung also explained Kepri’s geographical position as an archipelagic country based on maritime affairs that directly borders neighbouring countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, and Cambodia.

Kepri also has various potentials, ranging from economic investment potential, maritime and marine sectors, as well as tourism, and sea and airspace that have great potential to become checkpoints for the world trade area and border other countries.

“With that potential, Kepri continues to strive to synergise and collaborate in improving regional and national development,” said Andi Agung.
