JAKARTA: South Korea's state-owned Korea Electric Power Corp.
(KEPCO) is considering investing in the construction of a 350
million dollar steam power plant in Indonesia, a top official
said on Sunday.
Eddie Widiono, the president of Indonesia's state electricity
company PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), said KEPCO had
expressed an interest in building the plant near a planned PLN
liquefied natural gas terminal in Cilegon, Banten province.
The power plant will have a capacity of 740 MegaWatts and is
expected to operate in 2009.
The LNG terminal receiver currently being built in Cilegon
will have an initial capacity of about 400 million cubic feet of
gas per day and is expected to begin operation in 2007-2008,
