Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Education, Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) has locked the intake quotas for new students set by schools in the Dapodik portal to prevent the practice of selling seats in the Sistem Penerimaan Murid Baru (SPMB) for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Gogot Suharwoto, Director-General of Early Childhood Education, Basic Education, and Non-Formal and Informal Education at Kemendikdasmen, said the locking of the quota on the Dapodik portal had been in place since the regional government (pemda) set and reported it in the first technical guidelines (juknis) to prevent any hidden addition of seats.

“Now, in the juknis, the quotas at each educational unit across Indonesia are set, for SD, SMP, SMA, SMK levels, after which we lock the Dapodik. The Dapodik is locked so there can be no additional seats,” Gogot said after the signing of the RAMAH SPMB Joint Commitment event at Plaza Insan Berprestasi, Building A Kemendikdasmen, Central Jakarta on Thursday.

He further explained that they had prepared a monitoring mechanism carried out in three steps.

First, the authorities have locked the official quotas for all schools via the juknis issued by the local government.

For primary and junior high levels, the juknis is set by the regent or mayor, while for senior high school and vocational levels it is set by the governor.

The second step is that they require educational units to openly publish the number of seats available for each school, including via the official SPMB website or the school’s online portal.

“Schools must publish the number of seats on their website or the SPMB online platform coordinated by the service,” he said.

The third step is that they require educational units to publish the SPMB results, listing the names of students admitted and those not admitted.

With these three steps, he added, the number of students admitted will match the quotas set earlier, leaving no room for “titipan” (backhanded deals).

“It is not possible for any surreptitious admissions, as the total number will be the same,” he asserted.
