Kemdiktisaintek–Bappenas to Strengthen Data and Build Indonesia's Talent Ecosystem
Jakarta — The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) is collaborating with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) to strengthen the national talent development ecosystem through strategic data integration. The collaboration was reinforced by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between Kemdiktisaintek and Bappenas concerning the Integration and Utilisation of the National Talent Management Data (MTN) on Friday (6/3).
“We are confident that many lecturers and students, at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, can contribute to the development of National Talent Management and be elevated and developed to international levels,” said Badri. Badri hopes that the integrated data can support national development planning as well as the development of national talent management in a more targeted and data-based manner.
Furthermore, the Minister for PPN/Head of Bappenas, Rachmat Pambudy, emphasised the importance of developing national talent in facing increasingly intense global competition. He noted that a nation’s advantage does not only come from geography or natural resource wealth, but primarily from the quality of its human resources. Rachmat stressed that talent development can no longer be done sporadically or on a trial-and-error basis; it must be based on scientific analysis, cutting‑edge research, and innovations produced by Indonesia. “National talent development needs to be supported by a strong ecosystem grounded in education, research, and innovation,” he said.
This collaboration also aligns with the policy direction of Diktisaintek Berdampak; Kemdiktisaintek continues to push for an ecosystem in higher education, science, and technology that not only generates knowledge but also delivers real impacts for national development. The integration of the national talent database is expected to strengthen inter-ministerial and agency synergies in preparing an outstanding generation capable of competing globally toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
