BEKASI — Vehicle congestion is expected along Kalimalang Road during the 2026 Lebaran holiday exodus, particularly from motorcyclists heading out of the city.

To anticipate this situation, the Bekasi Metro City Police Force has prepared five service and security posts during the implementation of Operation Ketupat Jaya.

The Police Chief of Bekasi Metro City, Kusumo Wahyu Bintoro, stated that traffic congestion is likely to occur on several holiday routes in the Bekasi area, including along Kalimalang Road.

According to him, congestion may emerge at points where road repairs are being undertaken.

“In particular, we are preparing for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is estimated that along Kalimalang Road and other routes, there will be many two-wheeled vehicles passing through,” said Kusumo.

Of the five posts, two will function as service stations that can be used by travellers to rest.

“We have set up two posts as rest areas for weary travellers, particularly at the Giant Post and the Bulan-Bulan Post,” said Gefri when met at the Bekasi City Government Plaza on Thursday (12 March 2026).

The two service posts are located in the Giant area on Ahmad Yani Road, South Bekasi District, and the Bulan-Bulan Police Post near Bekasi Station.

Additionally, the police force has also prepared three security posts (pospam) focused on traffic regulation and maintaining security during the holiday period.

These three posts are located at Sumber Arta Petrol Station Post on KH Noer Ali Road, Pondok Gede District, Medan Satria Police Substation Post, and East Bekasi Police Substation Post.

“Those are security posts specifically for traffic management,” said Gefri.

“The total number of combined personnel involved is 964 personnel,” said Kusumo.

The personnel come from various elements, including the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), Department of Transportation, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fire Service, and other relevant agencies.

According to Kusumo, the security scheme will be implemented dynamically by adjusting to developments on the ground.

“Clearly, there will always be personnel at the security and service posts. Meanwhile, backup personnel at the Police Station and Military District (Kodim) can also be deployed as needed,” he said.
