Jakarta — Kakorlantas Polri (Traffic Commander of the Indonesian National Police) Senior Commissioner Agus Suryonugroho announced that Operation Ketupat 2026 will leverage technology to monitor homecoming traffic during the Lebaran holiday. Monitoring will be conducted through electronic traffic law enforcement (ETLE) systems, drones, and bodycams used by officers in the field.

Agus explained that these technologies will be deployed to monitor traffic conditions across various homecoming routes, including toll roads, arterial roads, and crossing areas. The use of technology forms part of the security and public service strategy during the homecoming period.

“We will monitor using ETLE, drones, and bodycams that will be deployed to serve the community,” said the Kakorlantas in Jakarta on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Operation Ketupat does not solely focus on regulating vehicle flow on roads. Security efforts are directed at ensuring all community activities during Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr proceed safely.

The National Police have positioned security at key points of public mobility including toll roads, arterial roads, crossing areas, places of worship, and tourist areas. Personnel deployment and supporting resources have been prepared through coordination with various stakeholders.

“Operation Ketupat is not merely a traffic operation, not just securing homecoming and return traffic. Rather, it is how the National Police as a state institution ensures that this social and spiritual moment remains entirely safe,” said Agus.
