Kakorlantas Inspects Bakauheni Port with Stakeholders, Ensures Readiness for Eid Al-Fitr Travelers
Ahead of Operation Ketupat 2026, the Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps (Kakorlantas), Irjen Agus Suryonugroho, together with stakeholders, inspected the readiness of Bakauheni Port and several supporting ports in Lampung. Irjen Agus ensured that these ports are ready to serve the public during the upcoming Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flow.
Irjen Agus inspected several locations, including the BBJ Muara Pilu Port, to ensure the operational readiness for transporting Eid travelers in 2026. This joint inspection with stakeholders demonstrates synergy and collaboration, as directed by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
During the visit, Irjen Agus was accompanied by the Director of Jasa Raharja, Muhammad Awaluddin, the Head of BPJT, Wilan Oktavian, the Director of SPASDP at the Ministry of Transportation, Sigit Widodo, and the Director of Jasa Raharja Putera Sigit Widodo. Also accompanying Kakorlantas were the Director of Traffic Registration at the National Police Traffic Corps, Brigjen Wibowo, the Director of Law Enforcement at the National Police Traffic Corps, Brigjen Faizal, and the Head of Operations at the National Police Traffic Corps, Kombes Aries Syahbudin.
Irjen Agus shared good news regarding the addition of new infrastructure to accelerate vehicle distribution patterns, making them safer and smoother.
“This year, a new port has been added, namely SMA (Sumur Makur Abadi). Hopefully, with the addition of this port, the vehicle distribution pattern can be much faster,” said Irjen Agus on Thursday (February 26, 2026).
In addition to the ferry sector, Operation Ketupat 2026 will also prioritize inspections of toll road management, arterial routes, places of worship, and tourist destinations. With the tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family,’ the National Police is committed to ensuring safe journeys by land, sea, and air.
“Operation Ketupat 2026, with the tagline ‘Safe Homecoming, Happy Family,’ hopefully, we will be present to ensure that journeys by land, sea, and air are safe, and that all families are happy, including Indonesia, which must be happy,” said Irjen Agus.
At the same location, the Director of Jasa Raharja, Muhammad Awalauddin, expressed his optimism regarding this year’s homecoming, given the thorough preparations made by the National Police Traffic Corps and local governments. Jasa Raharja emphasized that it is not only focused on providing compensation but also actively participates in activities to improve transportation safety.
“We see great optimism this year. Hopefully, with many things that have been done in preparation, including for the movement of traffic for Eid travelers, we can see how the facilities will continue to maintain traffic safety,” said Awaluddin.
In line with this, a representative from the Ministry of Transportation ensured that the prepared ports, such as the BBJ Port, meet the minimum service standards for the public.
“So, if we look at the BBJ port, it is ready to be used during the Eid transportation period, and hopefully, the weather will also be favorable, so that there are no obstacles during the Eid transportation service, and hopefully, it can run as expected,” said the Director of SPASDP at the Ministry of Transportation, Sigit Widodo.
Infrastructure support for roads is also a major concern. The Ministry of PUPR guarantees that access to the port, both via toll roads and non-toll roads, will be in good condition before the peak of the homecoming traffic.
The Head of the Port Authority and Port Authority Office (KSOP) Class IV, Suratno, explained that this year, four docks are fully prepared for the Eid transportation. These docks include the ASDP Port, PT Bakau Jaya, PT Wika Beton as supporting facilities, and PT SMA as a contingency or emergency port.
“The SMA Port can currently be used for ro-ro ships and landing craft tank (LCT) vessels, which will transport goods and motorcycles,” said Suratno.
It is hoped that by optimizing these docks, the public can enjoy a safe and comfortable homecoming, allowing them to reunite with their families.
