KAI Palembang Records 83,346 Eid 2026 Tickets Sold
Palembang – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division III Palembang has recorded 83,346 tickets sold for the 2026 Eid Transportation Service (Angkutan Lebaran 1447 Hijriah) as of 2 March 2026.
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Regional Division III Palembang, Aida Suryanti, stated in Palembang on Monday that the Eid Transportation period runs from 11 March to 1 April 2026, with three train services operating within the Regional Division III Palembang area.
“This achievement demonstrates that public confidence in train services continues to improve. KAI is committed to ensuring safe, punctual, and comfortable travel during the Eid Transportation period,” she said.
The three trains serving the public during this period are KA Bukit Serelo serving the Kertapati–Lubuk Linggau route (return trip), KA Rajabasa serving the Kertapati–Tanjungkarang route (return trip), and KA Sindang Marga serving the Kertapati–Lubuk Linggau route (return trip).
For KA Bukit Serelo on the Kertapati–Lubuk Linggau route, 15,112 tickets were sold, representing 108 per cent of capacity, whilst the reverse route to Kertapati recorded 16,347 tickets or 117 per cent of capacity.
On KA Rajabasa for the Kertapati–Tanjungkarang route, sales reached 20,731 tickets or 111 per cent of capacity, whilst the Tanjungkarang–Kertapati route sold 23,004 tickets or 123 per cent of capacity.
KA Sindang Marga for the Kertapati–Lubuk Linggau route recorded sales of 4,813 tickets or 51 per cent of capacity, whilst the reverse route to Kertapati sold 3,429 tickets or 36 per cent of capacity.
In addition to regular ticket sales, KAI Regional Division III Palembang has announced progress on a free travel programme resulting from collaboration with the South Sumatra Provincial Government and Bank Sumsel Babel. As of 3 March 2026, 1,872 people (approximately 64 per cent of the total 2,912 free ticket quota) have registered for travel on KA Bukit Serelo to Lubuk Linggau and KA Rajabasa to Tanjungkarang.
For the 16 March 2026 departure, the quota for KA Bukit Serelo on the Kertapati–Lubuk Linggau route is completely full, whilst KA Rajabasa on the Kertapati–Tanjungkarang route has 473 registrations or 57 per cent of capacity.
For the 17 March 2026 departure, KA Bukit Serelo to Lubuk Linggau has 447 registrations or 72 per cent of capacity, whilst KA Rajabasa to Tanjungkarang has 328 registrations or 39 per cent of capacity.
Registration for the 16 March departure is conducted in person at the Office of the South Sumatra Provincial Transportation Service Railway Division in Palembang, whilst registration for the 17 March departure is conducted online until 5 March 2026 or until the quota is filled.
According to Aida, the Eid Transportation period is not merely a time of increased mobility, but also a moment of togetherness filled with meaning for the public. “We want to ensure that every journey not only reaches its destination, but also provides a sense of safety, comfort, and warmth,” she said.
